Hi,

I think that 53 grade cement is the best cement for construction than 43 grade because grade 53 cement has a finest index of 329 compared to 293 for grade 43 cement.

It really depends on what you are building/using the concrete for.

Grade 20 & 33 are used for general construction, like roads, sidewalks residence footings/walls.

Grade 43 is intended for commercial/industrial buildings in a structural setting, and pre-cast/pre-stressed components.

Grade 53 is used primarily for long span bridges and other very high strength critical applications.

GRADES OF CEMENT ---- 53 IS ALWAYS BETTER WHERE QUICK SETTING ,STRONG BONDING AND GOOD GRADE OF WASHED AND GRADED CHEMICALLY INERT SILICA SAND 98%(NO SILT/CLAY/CHEMICAL REMAINS IN SAND) AND LESS CURING IS REQUIRED.

43 GRADE IS ALSO GOOD BUT FOUND WEAKER WHERE SALT,SILT,CLAY MIXED ORDINARY SAND(RIVER)IS USED,AND TAKE TIME TO SET ,HENCE BLAME GOES TO CEMENT GRADE IF CRACK DEVELOPS.

THE DIFFERENCE IS OF QUICK SETTING AND STRONG BONDING IN SEVEN DAYS.

53 Grade cement is a high strength cement please note that it is distinctly different fromRapid hardening/Quick setting cement in which setting property isbrought out by reducing the gypsum content at the time of clinker grinding.Being a high strength cement more curing of concret should be done as heat of hydration is more in this case.So it is a misconception regarding 53 grade cement.Cracks develope more in concrete made out of 53 Grade cement than 43 grade cement especially in hot climate concreting.

Something else to consider is that higher strength concrete tend to cost more than lower strength, so to conserve cost you should use concrete that affords the best cost for the project.
