Critical Path Planning Software Suggestions

07/18/2008 9:42 AM

I'm looking for suggestions of critical path planning software to purchase. Actually using this to plan steps to bring a book from scratch through publishing, not an engineering project. Please comment on pros and cons of systems you've used, and whether they might fit this sort of application. Thanks all!

Open Workbench is a good open-source alternative to M$ project. Download from www.openworkbench.org

I've use IBM's Rational for a software application design and programming that used VB and Access. It worked good for that application and I saw the potential for may different projects, not just software programming and launch.

In college, we used Primavera 3. It is more extensive than MS Project and a little more expensive. I still use my student version for my at home projects.
