coloring black

we do black color in plating but find that some part in some area not all over , turn reddish or reddish brown .can anybody send us the reason .

What is the base material? What plating process?

base material is c55 ie %of carbon is .50-.55% and the mangnese is .70-.90%

its a medium carbon steel. and we make assembly of cast and forge steel(same composition).color on the forge steel is black and cast steel is somewhere black somewhere reddish.
