PE Films

07/28/2008 11:19 PM

Hi there Can some one let me know how shrink % is effected in shrink films during the processing - the blow up ratio of the bubble (to what extent?) or the formulation (resins used?) Is there any effect on the other parameters such as gauge & slip (COF) values, appreciate your feed back

Good questions. I'm not sure to what extent, but the higher the blow up, the more the shrink. I also believe that the lower the resin density the more shrink you will acheive.

Die design probably has the biggest effect on shrink. I believe you get the best results with a smaller die gap.

As you can tell I'm not very sure, we have not done much work with shrink films. I am interested in what other answers you receive.
