in gas welding, y oxygen has 40psi pressure and acetylene has 10 psi pressure

you need to google the oxygen/acetylene welding process.

but basically, it takes a lot of oxygen to mix with a little acetylene for the process.

AND more importantly, the acetylene is unstable at pressures above 15 PSIG.

if you were to slice open an acetylene tank, you would find the inside filled with a spongy material, wet with acetone, which absorbs acetylene and keeps it in suspension untill needed.

In gas welding the pressures of oxygen to acetylene are usually equal but vary with tip size. Recommended pressures are listed by the manufacture of the torch.
