voltage doubler applications

hii,

i had done my mini project on dc voltage doubler and i was unable to convince my sir with the applications i have given to him ,can any one give me the applications of dc voltage doubler,it had increased the input voltage from 9V to 17V and the current obtained is very low so i am unable to find the applications,can any body help me??
