Now a days all software, hardware, firmware etc. is updated by windows update or similar medium when automatic updates is selected.

If using MS check recent updates to determine if this maybe the cause. You could delete the update or you may need to update a driver; sometimes and update feature may cause driver instabilities.

hi, I think bwire you are not getting what i'm trying to say....I'm sayin that like on your TELEVISION you use remote and get a MENU (for volume, tuning etc.) THIS IS CALLED ON-SCREEN MENU and MY MONITOR'S ON-SCREEN MENU is not working and i dont know how it got updated......AND what you are saying is not a driver flaw and there may be a chance of updating firmware IF I am using LINUX but in windows >>>>>>>NEVER. please give me a revelant solution, if you can. thanxx.

Excuse me?

You had not mentioned operating system in a previous post. And since you have linux the issues are not revelant but you may have success looking in the manufactuers for archived driver category and retrieve the original driver.

I suppose cost is factored differently at your area because a new/used monitor would be less prohibitive than an electricians bill.

I'm in agreement with vineetshgal4000 - how do you update the firmwhere on a monitor?

I would imagine that you would log on to the manufactures website and see if there is a program you can run that would update the firmware much like updating the BIOS.

The problem could also be a missing or corrupted driver. For drivers, try the link below

Good luck,

How 'new' is the monitor? It may still be under covered warranty. Also check your graphics card drivers. They may need an update as well.

Which operating system are you using?

I think you are correct, given the 'age' of the system.
It's the application software that came with the monitor. There should be a way to reset the monitor back to the original factory default.

Have you tried to rollback your system to a point before everything went ka-ka?

By the same token, you can move forward from here by Rolling Back your Graphics driver - that should make a backup of your current driver and then 'roll back' to the last driver you had. At that point you might be able to get at the monitor settings via windows.

I don't know how to control the monitor from the system but it should be possible.

The strange thing is that the application should have been archived somewhere. Try the ORIGINAL OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). It would also help if you could read an Asian language - I can't either.

I hope this has helped,

Yeah Buddy i did that previously and got a problem and thats why posted here 4 a solution.....and i was rite that its a very new problem........what i did was when i set contrast to 50% in new updated version of monitor software it was fine but , as only symbols are given no name under symbol so what i did was "ON NEW MENU " i selected the "<-- " this symbol in the new menu and message i got was " switching back to previous setting" -- message was not exactly identical but similar; and my new old menu appeared. Now when i checked my contrast it was 100% , MEANS ; THE CONTRAST THAT WAS SET TO 50% IN NEW MENU IS NOW 100% IN OLD ONE( the rollback version) MOREOVER my refresh rate is 85Hz so my screen dimensions were set according to that; AND NOW , THOSE DIMENSIONS ARE ALSO DEFAULD , BY LUCK I HAVN'T SET OTHER OPTIONS IN NEW MENU , SO IN OLD MENU I CAN ADJUST ALL OPTIONS EXCEPT contrast. AND I THINK BWIRE is not getting what i'm trying to say and BUYING a NEW THING IS NOT AN OPTION AS AN ENGINEER ( to be engineer still studying) we must try to resolve the problem to an extent of 99.7%. To me i can say million of times THAT ENGINEERING IS MY CHILDHOOD DREAM AND ENGINEERING IS NOT ALL ABOUT MONEY HONEY.

i understand ur problem, the menu u accessed is the service menu of ur monitor, can be accessed in most monitor by pressing two or three keys simultaneously, u have to search for that combination or ask some authorized service center about that shortcut. best of luck
