I find it hard to believe that this information is not readily available by traditional research methods.

For example go to:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tap_(transformer)

Remote control can be added by standard means.

Are you refering to Load Tap Changers? Primarily used to step up voltage under load for large switch yards when deman is extremely high.

Hello,

ther is fundamental difference in cahnging the tap of a Trfo. with RTCC Panel (Remote Tap Changing Control Panel) and control the transformer volatge using SCADA.

Any Power Transformer are provided with On Load Tap Cahnger. Based on the output volatge variation to maintain constant volatge tap will be cahnged from the Control Room either by raising the tap or lowering tap.

A transformer provided with AVR (automatic volatge regulator) tap can be controlled by Substation Automation (SCADA).

Off load tap cahnger is entirely different in which every tap changing involves turning off the transformer, change the tap and turn on the trafo.

Regards,

N.Suresh
