I discovered recently that you can use a pdf printing application – I have one called 'Cute pdf' – on a pdf document and produce exactly what you are after, namely one page of a multi-page document.

The 'official Adobe way' to split a pdf document is to use Adobe Acrobat Professional. The main (top) menu has 'Document', 'Extract Pages'.... This way you can extract any number of pages, plus many other functionalities.

CutePDF does not allow you to modify existing PDF's, only to make new ones. You need to have a copy of Acrobat Prof. to Extract pages.

You can always copy the page and paste it into a document, then use CutePDF to create a new single page PDF doc. Adobe reader gives you the facility to select Text and Graphics as separate items, so you can create the document in Word exactly as it was in the original doc.

What are you using to read the PDF document with?

I use the free cut down version of Adobie Acrobat ant that can select what pages you want printed. Select Print from the file menu and the print options screen allows you to adjust a whole host of things including paper size and the pages printed.

Open the existing PDF and print the page you want and chose the PDF print driver and save that page to new name.

Greetings,

It is possible to extract pages in a .PDF/.pdf document using Adobe Acrobat Professional. In addition, you can also combine several different .pdf's into one contiguous document.

The easiest way to do this without having the Professional version of Acrobat is to simply select the page you want to "print" in the print set-up and then save the document as a .prn file in Windows, or if you're fortunate to be a MAc OS user you can use Preview to save any document or document range as a native .pdf.

Hope that this helps.

I have a very affordable pdf document creator that works as a printer drive; it is called pdf995. When I want only one page or group of pages of a document, I select the range of pages to be printed and that's all.

There is a free software that can do the job. Log on www.pdfill.com and download the free program.

If you can move your pdf to a Macintosh with OS X, you'll be able to "Print To pdf" selecting a page range of your choosing. This will create a new pdf document with the specified page range.

I'm not sure how one would do this on Windows without the advanced version of Acrobat.

I feel that I should qualify my earlier post; since writing it I have tried several different .pdf source documents with varying degrees of success:

.pdf's I created myself from 'Word' documents – No problem

.pdf catalogues from suppliers – No problem

.pdf's from the BSI – won't work

I don't have access to Adobe Acrobat so I am guessing here but I suspect that there is some kind of lock or bar put on these files during creation that prohibits their printing via 'Cutepdf'

I thought it a fair assumption that the person posing the original question didn't have access to Adobe Acrobat – which is of course the obvious answer – or they wouldn't have asked the question in the first place. Also, the questioner didn't ask for the original document to be modified, only to extract one page. 'Cutepdf', and apparently several other print apps, will do this most of the time.

I'm not making a sales pitch for 'Cutepdf' here, it's just what our IT dept has let us use.

Hi, To deal with large PDF files is to split the PDF files into small number of files, i.e select the page from the large PDF file and split the selected page into new PDF file. To split the large PDF files you should go for a third party tool like PDF split tool. These tool works for large PDF files and split the PDF files into small PDF files by giving page range as the input to the tool and output will be the PDF file containing the selected page range. There are n number of PDF split tools in the market, but i can suggest you a best PDF tool which i choose from the bundle of the PDF split tools it is SysInfoTools PDF Split .I use this tool oftenly and my friends and colleagues also use this tool in there daily routine. They are very please from this tool. You can follow this link: http://www.sysinfotools.com/recovery/pdf-split.html

Hi, jenny

I've looked at the PDF splitting tool and I found it's similar to the C# splitting tool that I used in my C#.net project. Does the one you shared supports working in .NET application as well?

i am not clear whrther abode has such a tool, but i usually do such a work and i am using some good imaging sdks which can do the job. iam not an export in the realm, but i have several years´ experience so i can give you some advices. there are many ways to do that. If you wanna save these complicated steps and find a easy way, you can google split pdf and you will find many useful tools, or google how to split pdf to get instructive articles. I use a pdf spliter driver found on the internet . Install it and it becomes a selectable option. Then you can split mutipage pdf into single ones in many formats in any program at all, including Adobe Acrobat . Just open the sdk, select pdf, and choice split, then you can split pdf in c#, vb, asp ,etc ,the task will be finished in several seconds. if you haven´t found a good choice , you can have a try. best wishes.
