Of course, you can get e-news letters related to software - and they are many, but you have to seek out each one and subscribe for it.
You may simply buy the c-codes for networking. This was developed by the berkeley team I believe and you can get it when you buy the book entitled "TCP/IP Illustrated" Vols 1, 2, 3 - published by Addison Wesley. However, vol 1 is what contains the protocols.
