Equivalent solutions are since years in use with more or less positive results. There are several problems:

- the particles in suspension in the air have very different forms (thus aerodynamics = drag coefficients) and densities so that the velocities in the cyclones have to be matched. I was confronted to such an aspect years ago when a subway company used the wrong cyclones for the cooling air of its electronic boxes and decided that the technology was not good.

- the quantity of carried particles is very different, I presume that you pass 1st the cyclones (a battery of micro or mini devices in parallel) and after it have a filter sheet. Depending on the particles properties (see above) the quantity passing the cyclones barrier will be variable. This means that you cannot claim the 10 years without a specification under which conditions you assume this interval. The problem is also the progressive clogging of the air ducts in the material filter. This will lead to a flow resistance increase and most probably to a flow decrease in time. Of course you can, depending on the nature of the filter sheet, use for instance vibrations to get what remains on surface fall down and clean it but part of the particles will stay in the tissue.

As for the use the optimum is a dry ambiance with a quite narrow distribution of dust particles as form and density so that you can trim the cyclones and master the quantity coming to the filter sheet.
