Dear Sir,

CTPT are generally Instrument Transformers - Current & Potential Transformers

The Choice of CTs & PTs ration depens on the Rated Current & Rated Volatge for their Primary Current & Votage.

For ex. 2000, 1200 , 800 , 400 A for CTs Primary. 400, 220,132 , 110, 33, 11 kV for PTs primary. The secondary current of CTs is standardized as 1 A seconadry current for EHT, HT applications. 5 A seconadry for LT.

For PT the seondary volatge is 110 V standard.

Also, Volt Ampere (VA) Burden needs to be considerd. This refers how much the CTs & VTs can loaded.

The application will for CTs - Metering, Protection like Over Current, Earth fault, Differntial, Busbar, Distance.

The PTs will be for metering. Over flux, Under Voltage for protection.

The accuracy class will be 1.0, 0.5, 0.2 etc for metering, 5 P10, 5 P 20, PS or PX for protection.

The CTs & PTs are exhaustive and requires lot of practical experience to understand.

This will give a basic idea reagrding the same.

Regards,

N.SUresh
