I work in a chemical mixing plant that uses Potash. The PVC pipes used to transfer the Potash from the tanker to the Potash tank are threaded with the use of teflon tape. The connections on the tranfer pipe are all slightly leaking do to the temp change in the PVC from the hot Potash. I am weary of using PVC compound simply because I believe the temp change will crack the compound as the pipe expands and contracts.
Is there and flexible compound that can both seal the joints and flex with the temp change well still resisting the corrosive properties of the Potash?
