Automated calling via a laptop

09/08/2008 8:30 PM

Lets Brainstorm,

I just got a job on night shifts and to make sure I stay awake, the management requires me to make a phone call every 30 min and leave a voicemail stating the time. The messages are prudently checked the next day and compared to when they were actually left.

What I need is a means of automatically placing the calls to leave pre-recorded messeges. I attempted to use the auto program start in the control panel of my PC but it didn't work :-(. I couldn't get around the delay before the call is forwarded to voicemail. I know the pesky automated telemarketers and debt collectors make calls in this fashion therefore it CAN be done. Please Help.

Given the unethical nature of your request, you will probably be hard-pressed to find assistance here. I could be wrong though.

My opinion is that if you are required to perform a task as directed by your employer, then you should do it as directed. It must be terribly inconvenient for you.
