SolidWorks Question

09/10/2008 11:12 AM

I'm wondering how to save a SolidWorks assembly so that it can't be modified if I'm emailing it out to several people? I would like to save it as a read only file so that it can be viewed but not worked on. I realise this is probably very simple but I haven't been able to figure it out. Thanks for your help.

Send it as an e-drawing.

I'm assuming you're asking about a realistic thread like you find in a lead screw? Essentially you make a thread profile sketch and extrude-cut along a helix/spiral path.

But, send a few more details and I'll give you a more exact answer. PS What version?
