poster, you might also need to differentiate between Physical and Mechanical as well. many lay people say physical tests when what they really mean is mechanical properties. just a tip.

FYI, the syllable "spec" in specification is derived from the Latin word for "look." A specification is a document that "Looks" at the particulars-chemically or physically in your specific case. Chemical is easy to understand as material ingredients; physical , not so easy- as I mentioned above. specific heat is a physical property, as is conductivity or resistance or .... tensile strength or hardness are "mechanical properties" often erroneously tagged as 'physicals.' in common parlance

including more context in your request would have made it far easier for people to respond in a helpful manner. There are also legalistic senses of what you asked, as well as technical.
