Central Battery System

Can anyone tell me , concept for central batter system ?

Can we use central batter system for lighting and small power if not tell me that which code stats that CBS is onle for emergency lighting?

Central Battery system is used in Industries,Power plants etc .The battery feeds to common DC (220VDC)Distribution Board.The out going feeders from this DC Distribution Board will give Dc (control )voltage to various system such as Control Panels,Relay Panels,Instruments ,UPS etcwhich require 220VDc for its operation.One of the feeder may by Emergency feeder to give emerghency illumination through GLS lamps during power failure.However the lumen output from GLS lamps is not high. Hence sometimes this Dc illumination feeder will feed to Inverter to produce 240V AC,1-phase Ac voltage to operate HPSV/Flourscent Tube lights etc during power failure to give more lux levels.
