Netflix is Offering $1 Million for Software Help

10/02/2006 12:11 PM

Netflix, the online DVD rental company, is looking for ways to improve its movie recomendation system. They are offering $1 million (USD) for an original software program that can improve their system results by at least 10%, as measured by their own tracking program. If there is no clear winner, they will offer $50,000 to the contestant who comes the closest.

So, if you're good at qualifying algorithms, here's you're chance to prove it and make quite a bit of money in the process.
