back pressure

Please tell me what is back pressure?(in flare, In depressurizing,In Pressure saftey valve)

If you have a valve with high pressure one side and a pipe or vessel or something on the other side. the back pressure is the pressure in that 'other' side.
In other words, it's the pressure which the flow meets when the valve opens...e.g The pressure trying to push the flow 'back' to where it came from.

Pressure due to a force that is operating in a direction opposite to that being considered, such as that of a fluid flow.
