Miller cycle engines, Air imulsion direct injection (stratified Charge), hybrid drive systems, use of plastics, epoxy fastening systems, the Personal (one person) car, five axis machining, Nodular cast iron engine blocks, variable valve timimg, Electric valve actuation, Pneumatic valves, Norton Rotary engines (still).

The Auto manufacturers have finally realized that the price of gas is high and that the general public really can not afford the gas guzzling vehicles at the pumps. So what they have done is cut the weight of metal with in the cars down by using lighter metals formed with better structural support or just taken it right out of the cars.

Some cars are going to be dramatically smaller........

Sorry just had to. But they are using lighter metals with better placement of reinforcements and ribs.
