Diesel Engine Monitoring and Control Systems

10/02/2008 12:24 AM

I am looking for niche market research on off-highway / industrial diesel engine monitoring and control systems (electronic or mechanical). Some examples of the types of control systems I am referring to are:

FW Murphy - PowerView
Houston Street Technologies - H30
Controls, Inc. - EngineMaster
LOFA - 600 or 750

I would appreciate any competitor analysis, product comparison testing or market studies you may be aware of.

Thanks!

PSM-K

You will need to tell us what you want to do...there are systems out there that do a lot like oil pressure, water temp and so.different regions have different ideas of what is allowed to be fitted.so just to refer to the rest as systems like these you need to be more.

what size engines do you want to monitor

what do you want to monitor

how do you want the information transfered

where to do you want it taken and in what form

just a few Questions you need ask yourself.

PSM-K,

Where are you located? This may play a part in the product of choice. Always best to make an effort go with what is available in your area (if possible).

More specifics on the equipment and engines please, "off-highway / industrial diesel engine". This could be almost anything ranging from 100 hp to 10,000 hp.

Smallest requiring only 3 or 4 gauges, largest requiring 30-40 points of pressure and temperature monitoring (alarm and shut down circuits as well).

Large Industrial medium speed engines have been a large part of my work for many years and I would be happy to help in any way possible once you share a little information for us to work with.

Hi Tim: sounds like you have plenty of experience working with large industrial engines. I will appreciate any suggestions you may have for my current project. I am looking for reliable and proven analyzers or sensors that will monitor diesel engine emissions(control emissions in future), such as NOx, Hydrocarbons,Carbon Monoxide and Particulate Matter. I would prefer an in-line continuous measurement. I also invite comments or suggestions from others who have knowledge on this subject.
