ASME Sec VIII Div 1

I want to weld a ring and some cleats inside of column shell and want to remove a welded ring which was wrongly placed at some elevation. The column is erected at site and has no PWHT and has spot radiography, no letha service also and it was hydrotested before erection. So please tell me if we will weld this ring and cleats and remove wrong ring then is it necessary to do hydrotest again as per ASME Sec VIII Div 1. Shell material is SA 516 Gr 70

Hello

Due the problems that could occur in HAZ it is mandatory to repet the hydrotest, but previus to hydrotest perform NDT of welded area.

You are right AUREL MARES.

But I'd like to use the term NDE (Non Destructive Examination) instead of NDT, because NDT per ASME code means Nill Ductility Transition (not Non Destructive Test).

you can go to www.standardshop.org
there sale a lot of asme aws api standard and so one .can immediately download,and very cheap low price!
