air borne surviellance system

can any one say me about air borne sensors used in surviellance systems that can identify objects from 30 metres of height.......and how the transmissin of data takes place from that height to ground contrl(process of tramsmission)...

Most of them are video-camera or CCD with radio frequency transmission.
