If you don't know how to design a column precisely, then design it conservatively. That is the cardinal rule of structural design. Do not rely on complicated theory to analyse an unusual column. Use principals that you know and understand. Let that be your guide.

First, I agree with Bruce, be conservative!

Unsymmetrical columns require more care in developing interaction diagrams. Sometimes if a certain cross section is desired for architectural reasons, it may be possible to design a symmetrical column with architectural appendages, however if this route is chosen connections must be made with care, usually to the symmetrical portion of the column.

As a reference you may use Reinforced Concrete by James MacGregor, however this is not a cookbook, and some reading is required. Good Luck!
