Need Connector

10/20/2008 6:51 PM

I am in the need of a connector, that looks somewhat like this,

It allows you to connect wires easily to a row of pins.

I have a 50 pin double row array.

I need to only go 5 rows wide to be able to connect to the pins I need to connect to.

Anyone help with someone that makes these things?

This page from RS Components lists lots of things like your picture. You should be able to narrow it down initially by connector pitch. Don't have to buy them from RS, but it may give you a lead to the manufacturer, & thence to a local supplier.

Have a look at WAGO or PHOENIX, they`ll lead you to their disties.

I`m sure your picture is one of their products.

Looks like a "Phoenix contact" part. Suggest browse their website for a distributor.

As others have said it looks like a Phoenix connector or equivalent which are widely used and readily available. There are several variations with different pin spacing so be sure to check this. The 5mm range is the commonest in audio-visual equipment.

In the Farnell book 1, Pages 1603 to 1606 they are listed under IMO, CAMDEN (and even Weidmuller, different colour but they will fit). The RS book 2 also shows IMI, Weiland, Wago and Phoenix 5.08 connectors which looks the same so you are spoiled for choice.

Be carefull to measure the pin spacing as they come in 2 pitch sizes, 5.08 and 7.5mm. Your picture looks like a 5.08.

These are manufactured by 'Phoenix', Germany.

If you are based in India, major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Calcutta have

their representatives.

Best Luck

Yes, it is a WAGO connector - we use them all the time with various pin counts.

That should get you started.

That connector is called a 'phoenix' connector. You might try Newark or Mouser.
