TOP249Y Denon

10/26/2008 2:16 AM

Gi guys. I'm looking for a certain part for my Denon ASV 600 dvd player. It's part number isTOP249Y. According to the repairman, it has 5 feet. I hate to scrap my dvd player.

I hope you can help me out.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Nelson, can you give us a photo in close up of the old part? It maybe that the part is a general part that can be found in another player! Any Words printed on the part would also be a bonus!

Just google TOP249Y - several sources are listed. Bluestar has it listed as "IC SW OFF-LINE PS 180/250W TO220"

Hi, guy,

I dont know if you mean your dvd power goes wrong? I dont know your dvd, but top249 is a power module from PI company. this 3 terminals device offer power to supply your dvd.

if so, you can check optical couple in the parts board, as well as 431 and main fuse.

or your transformer.

what is 5 feet? 5 pins? this device has 3 pins, and dip chip.

Thanks guys for a fast response.

@ Mr. Brain, I'll try to get a picture and post it here.

@ JohnDG, i did google TOP249y before posting. And i did saw the Bluestar list. Unfortunately it doesn't have a picture. I haven't actually seen the part. My local repairman simply told me the part number and described what it looks like. He told me it looks like those regulator ICs screwed beside a heat sink. Square black with an extended metal at the back with a hole to screw on.

@ cnpower, thanks for correcting me. % pins. yes. Not 5 feet. Hehe! According to him, it has 5 pins. I've also tried the yahoo search, saw a picture but the top249y i saw has 6 pins.

Let me elaborate on what happened. From a cold start, the dvd player plays smoothly. But after a few minutes, it begins to heat up and automatically turns itself off (probably a safety feature). I already brought it to the local denon service center but they could find the parts needed to fix it so i brought it to my trusted repairman.

Any additional inputs would be great!

there are many causes to heat, which parts heat?

I think you;d better take it to that service center, however they are trained by the company. if its caused by 249y, they may take you $6-8. and has guaranty, but if your friend repair for you, in case something wrong, the company will refuse to serve for you again.

It has 5 feet? Better take its sneakers off it so it can't run far

With 5 feet you don't have to worry about it running away. The side with 3 feet will be faster than the side with only 2. Therefore, it can only run in circles. You can easily catch it when it circles back...
