SPB Pulley and SPC Pulley

10/31/2008 5:51 AM

Here i have 2 SPC 3700 belt taper lock pulleys at a machine. Both pulleys diameter = 10inches. One is placed 0.5meter higher than the other one. Need to change both pulleys to SPB 2900LW belt pulley. ( centralizing all the pulleys ) Is the taper lock different for SPB and SPC pulleys? Is there any problem will occur if i carry out this modification? Existing number of grooves : 4

What you need to look at is the taper size and lock design. It appears that they are from the same manufacturer from the codes.

All to often, it seems that someone stops and looks up the painfully obvious due to shear boredom on the part of the advisors part and shear laziness of the posters part.

If someone would say without a doubt "yes" or "no" would you base your decision or purchase on this? I'm sure I could or anyone else as well could answer this with out a doubt and attach links within 15 minutes, that stands to reason that you could as well.

This information is out there I assure you. Go get it.

Please dont take this wrong, if you are having problems its one thing. But often it seems like this is more a Google Site for people who are looking to make it even simpler. If I assumed wrong, I apoligize and I am at your service untill we find your answer

When you order the pulleys, tell the supplier you need the matching taperlocks for whatever size shaft they are mounted on. I would prefer to change whatever I could during the swap over to avoid potential problems in the near future. This might include stress cracks from the removal of the older taperlocks if not done correctly.
