how to measure D.C Current

I want measure D.C Current in the range of 20amps and connect to microcontroller.So, what type of sensors use to measure and given to microcontroller.

Use Shunts with Current tranducers ... System may be

Input - 0-20Amp DC

Out put - 4 - 20 mA / 0 - 5V that goes to Microcontroller Input card.

The most widely used and inexpesinve way of doing that is by a shunt. Choose one that gives a voltage output that meets your microcontroller input, and that's all you need. If there are constraints in your design that prevent the introduction of such device in series in your circtuit, please specify.

TI makes a nice current shunt interface chip - the ILA193. NVE makes an interesting magneto-resistive current sensor.

Indeed, TI makes that kind of chips but they have changed the name to INA193
