Calculating Thickness of Blind Flange

flange reating is 3000#

pressure is 34.25bar

flange size is 36"

First you confirm a couple things -

  1. What is a 3000# flange? What code/standard is that? Do you mean 300#?
  2. What temperature?

3000# flange is rated for 3000psi

That would be the intuitive answer, but I have never heard of a 36" - 3000 psi flange.

So here's the easy solution -

Don't calculate the thickness of the blind flange - refer to the appropriate standard (perhaps ASME B16.47) and buy an off-the-shelf rated blind.

Revise your numbers. Do not look right. 3000# flange , 34.5 Bar pressure with 36 inch dia are unheard of.

Do they have in Bangla Desh?
