Mr Instrumentation

We have a heat exhanger within our waste fuel unloading area, recently gasket blew up and sprayed diesel oil all around.

Is there any proven intrumentation that can be installed to detect early failure of the gasket or leak detection that can be monitor if leaks is taking place?

I know of no instrument that can predict the future. What you need is a preventive maintenance (PM) program.

Make sure you have the right gasket for the job. You know it failed once. You need to determine why. Did the flange become loose? You have to come up with a system so that this, and all the other components, get checked out on a regular basis. A good PM program will eliminate almost all of your problems.

Thanks for the comments, you have given a very practical solution. I'm also trying to check other than good PM, if any instrument is available and tested with similar industry for early leak detection.
