PLC AB SLC 500

11/17/2008 9:57 AM

I have a question regarding a input Module thermocouple card. All the inputs 0-7 (503 series) flash and the module light is on. I'm guessing a bad board. Anyone have an idea?

Don't know much about the SLC500 range (I use Micrologix), but if you look through this lot, you may find something to help. Without your module part ID I can't go any further.

If you have an 8 input TC/mV card then you have a 1746-NT8 . The 5/03 is your CPU.

The status indicators will flash if the channel is enabled and open circuited or out of range (low or high)

If this thing was working just fine up until yesterday, with all inputs connected, and poof...now the status lites are flashing...then yes, you could have frapped the module. Without knowing your process it should be pretty easy to check your TC mV inputs and use RSLogix to see whats going on in the SLC.

If you are putting the PLC together then it might just be the config settings or you may still need to hook up some inputs.

Here's the link for the NT8 card user manual.
