The Best Material For

11/17/2008 10:09 PM

Dear All

I would like to ask what is the best material for High Pressure & temperature Process.

The Max Temperature will be around 450 C with Max Pressure of 150 bar. I would like to make some kind of Vessel/Reactor ( is it Possible if I used say.. Pipe maybe)

The Volume design for 600 Lt. How mm the best thickness that stand for pressure of 150 bar? Temp of 450 C

Friend of mine told me that it would be better to use Carbon Steel Alloy Series 600#.

Pls kindly Suggest me ..

My advice to you is DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I am not sure of your location - but I assume there is also some laws against what you propose)

SO I REPEAT DO NOT DO IT - THAT IS VERY DANGEROUS WHAT YOU ARE DEALING WITH!!

(regardless of what you propose to put in this vessel - which you even failed to mention)

For safety reasons, pressure vessels should ALWAYS be designed and fabricated by licensed manufacturers, especially high pressure vessels like the one you're thinking of. In addition, they need to be tested and certified as safe by a Professional Engineer. In short, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!!
