Calculating Required Output Torque

How do you calculate the required output torque on a motor, when the motor is used to feed wire. The wire is fed between 2 rollers due to friction. In this case what do you consider as the 'load' for your torque calcs?

The distance between the motor axis and wire axis is 1/2 inch.

If you disconsider the effect of rollers deflection and deformation, and losses, the torque required to pull the wire would be the force in the wire times 1 roller radius, in the case, 1/2 in. Applied in one roller or divided in two, if you want.

Last time I did that, I just put a force sensor on the wire and read what I needed.

Depending on your system, I suppose you should also consider the force required to accelerate the wire and roller and wire storage drum if there is any.
