Finding machine tool

11/27/2008 8:06 AM

Dear All,

I'm founding a small workshop of an area of 200 square meters divided on two floors. I want to produce high pressure forged piping fittings mainly for oil & gas industry (and any other purposes) up to 2 inches (e.g. threaded and socket elbows, tees, nipples. Etc…). What would be the components of production line from raw material to final product?

BEST REGARDS,

Sayed Kandil,

Cairo Egypt

Hi there,

If you're going from smelting to final product, you sadly do not have enough space.

The smelting plant, depending on production, will already take up all your space.

I would suggest using piping with at least 7mm walls, rather than forging it yourself.

For this you'll need a welding section, with a harmfull gas extraction system.

Thread cutting section, an airvac system is advisable to keep it clean.

You'll also need a system for accurate bending-someone please advise.

Also think of a high velocity sander, with dust extraction system.

I hope that someone can build on this info and advise you further.
