Older Otis Elevators?

11/27/2008 11:24 AM

Would anyone be able to send me (hopefully in pdf) a schematic or wiring diagram for an older model, relay type, Otis elevator controller? I am helping a friend take care of the elevator in his old building and, although we haven't had any major problems yet, I would sure like to have even some general info on hand. I believe this elevator is at least 50 years old!

Thanks for any help you can give me!

I sure hope your friend has his insurance paid up! Working on elevators is not for the uninitiated. One mistake or just one failure of an elevator that has been improperly maintained can lead to someone else and their lawyer becoming the new owners.

You're exactly right! That's why my friend asked for my help. But, thanks for the caution! Can't be too careful!
