ASI modules

CAn anybody tell about the company IFM and the DInput modules and the difference between SAC boxes or what is ASI modules.??? I know a lil bit about PLC communication and all...

What do you want to know about IFM? The company is IFM-Efector and have some good sensors.

Not sure what a SAC box is but AS-i is a device based two wire master slave network. Check out http://www.as-interface.net/ for more on AS-i.

Also, this is the website for IFM http://www.ifmefector.com/ifmus/web/home.htm. AS-i is a device-level network like DeviceNet. You need a communications module in your PLC rack to talk to the I/O modules in the field. You transfer data to and from the card to read and write to the I/O modules. Once you have the mapping done (it is done differently for different comm cards) then it just like writing coils and reading contacts in your logic.
