Air Engines

I have heard about Engines working on Compressed Air which have been developed in France and Australia. Can anyone tell me whether they are really in existence and used commercially and how much do they cost? Can they be used for Automotive or other applications? Where do you buy Air Engines?

existence .. Yes. The answer to our problems? No. The energy to run an air compressor must come from somewhere. You could recharge your air-tank at the corner gas station, but that would just be pushing the cost onto its owner. It is a "zero emissions" car, but it just moves the pollution from your exhaust pipe to your local electricity provider. In many parts of the the USA, that would be a coal burning power-plant.

in all parts of the US, it would be 50% coal. We are on a grid in the US and the electrons don't know where they came from or how they go charged up. You live in a fairy tale land if you believe you are greener.
