You select the bar based on the amperage that it will have to carry. Google search copper bus bar ampacity.

Dear Sir,

Finalise identify the DC Loads. Also fix your DC voltage. Work out the Current to be carried. Then finalise the conductor material of Bus Bar. (Copper or Aluminum). Depending on above finalise the cross section of the bus bar. Also, consider Short Circuit Current in KA.

Nobody seems to be mentioning AMBIENT TEMPERATURE, which is critical when selecting busbar &/or cable.
