hi dude..

i am afraid you cannot just 'build' a transformer... these transformers are actually incorporated inside the electrical devices that work on increased or decreased power from the mains.. generally 220-230 V .

so wht is that you are actually wanting to charge??

Hi Logic, if you want to build a transformer there are electrical standards that must be met to evaluate fire and shock hazards. These voltages can be lethal, so bottom line - don't do it. Buy an approved one, your family will thank you.

Hello,

You Battery Charger is Current rated. (Ampere Rated). You incomer shall be 415 V AC Supply. You will supply the load the follwoing DC Volatges. 48 V DC, 110 V DC, 220 V DC.

Why do you want to unncessarily distrub the control transformer.

Regards,

N.Suresh

loqic; there are buck/boost transformers that you could use, if you had a 575 volt to 100 volt you could buck the voltage down to the 480 volts for your battery charger, you don't say what the amp load is at 480 volt is, check inside your charger the transformer in side may be reconnect-able for your 575 volts perry

B B; Chances are with a 480 volt 3 phase charger it is for a fork lift truck 36 volt battery that charges over night starting at 350 amps and decreasing as the voltage reach its 42.6 float voltage and shuts off. andycapp

If the charge is 350amp then what could be the battery's current rating? Those fork lift chargers, are they smart types?

Hello Guest,

I did think about something like a forklift or other large vehicle charger. But I do not know enough about that to give direct advice. And I have not been anywhere near that kind of chager for 18 years.

Do you have the experience in this line?

Thank you for the post by the way, you should join, it is really interesting!

Take care and thank you.........Have a great holiday!..........
