Search engine software.

12/12/2008 8:38 AM

Good morning braintrust.

Recently I've noticed a new search engine (msn) has taken over and usurped my usual google. How can I make it use google instead of msn? Thx.

Check out this thread on CR4, flyinghigh. There's an extended discussion of the problem that you're having.

Are you sure that the "ursupring" search engine in MSN, though? If that's the case, you may simply need to adjust a browser setting. When I had this problem, the search engine that snuck in under Google was one I'd never heard of.

Hope this helps.

Moose

Good morning Moose. Thx for your note. The only thing I know for sure is there's a 3/4" hi band running from left to right that starts with "msn, powered by Live Search, News, Entertainment, Video, (temperature), etc." that wasn't there before.

You may have accepted something from an internet site that was "free", such as a screen saver etc., and ended up with a hijacker that displays 'MSN' but actually is not.

These can be very devilish to root out, so no delays, go to the thread as suggested.

Good hunting.
