The company Yousung Powder Machine Co., LTD. has manufactured machineries for Pnumatic Conveyance System and Air Knocker is one of peripheral devices for this trasportation system.

In pneumatic conveyance system Air Knocker is a device to solve the problem of powder's sticking effect to Hopper, Silo etc. in transportation process.

- According to the characteristic of powder such sticking problem happens inevitably and then, Air Knocker is a very unique device/machine which works simple but solves the problem efficiently.

- Magnetic Piston equipped in Air Knocker gives shock(6~8 times per a min) to hopper or silo so it makes the flow of materials easy, the principle is knocking the outside of hopper or silo

ie, compressed air blow hit the magnet piston and down part of piston knock the out side of hopper or silo. this function prevent the cohesion and bridge rat hole phenomenon.

TROUBLE PHENOMENON
.	BRIDGING Bridging occurs when materials cling to the wall or compact above the discharge opening of the lower part in the hopper, and the flow of materials in the upper part is interrupted.		RATHOLING Rat holing occurs when materials flow only above the exit, and form a tube that leaves the hopper filled with "dead" materials, which will not move.
.	ARCHING Arching occurs when materials in the lower part of the hopper flow out from the discharge opening, and an arch strong enough to support the entire head load in the hopper is formed		ADHERENCE TO WALL Clinging materials and also materials easily influenced by the moisture and the temperature adhere to the wall and refuse to flow.

Unless I'm misreading the question (and I probably am) I think he's more asking how the air-operated valve works and not so much what a knocker is / does.

Perhaps one of our resident pneumatic experts can better explain it? I would try, but I have to wave my arms around to make sense.

The electrically operated solenoid valve is used to switch the air operated valve. This accomplishes two things.

1. It removes the electrically operated valve from what may be a hazardous area.

2. It uses the pneumatically operated valve to pass a higher flow than the small solenoid may be capable of passing.
