I have an issue and i was hoping for some assistance. We are trying to produce a part from a mold. The mold is 14" by 28" by 1 1/2" thick per plate (2 plates). We have 6 heater bands running the length of the mold and one thermocouple roughly in the middle of the mold. The thermocouple is giving me a true reading at the middle of the mold, but the aluminum is not transfering the heat as was expected. I have about a 10° diffrence from the middle to the end of the mold.
Is there a thermocouple that will better track the variations in the mold? I dont really want to have to go to a zone type of set up. I know that would do the job really well, but it is also a lot more cumbersome with the way these molds are being used.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
