How to Design a Transmitter and Reciever

Hi,

I want to design a transmitter and reciever of my own.....I want their specifications like range of operation etc., I need to design only a short range one.

Do you want to design one or do you want to buy one ?

What specifications do you require - range, power, purpose, voice or data ?

Do you need license for frequency and power ? Local laws!

More details of your requirements please.

You used to be able to pick up booklets at Radio Shack that have these types of projects in them. I haven't checked lately but they probably still have them. I don't know what your purpose is for this but I had in mind building a transmitter for digital TV. This would have to be very low power of course because the FCC is very protective of these frequencies (UHF). Then, all I would need to receive is one of those low cost digital converter boxes and an antenna.

You have not specified the MBPS, also what will be criterion like only voice or image signal as well...
