how to calculate resistors for closed star delta start

Hellow

I have a problem in determining the resistors to install for a closed star delta start of a 45 KW motor sourced by a generator of 380V output.

In addition what type of resistors are used in this type of application

I have problem of starting the motor in the open star delta as the current rise is too high in the transition from star to delta connection resulting in low voltage out put from the generator.

For this size of electric motor, you use either auto transformer starter or a "soft" starter - a lot more expensive option. Star-delta can be used on motors up to 7.5 HP, not higher - unless you want to upset your neighbours by constant voltage drops during transition period.

Hello

you can use resistors for this job... however it would be an expensive solution because that power of resistors are rare, expensive and easily damaged. My proposal is that you can look for a trystor soft starter...

I suggest u use a soft starter which will solve starting current spikes and smooth starting
