Diesel Fuel Injector Nozzles

12/30/2008 6:05 AM

HI ! what is the effect of different geometrical dimensional on performance of nozzle although they have same nomenclature? i mean there is diesel injector BOSCH nozzle having nomenclature DN 6S 197 but there is observed difference in dimension or u can say tolerance of fuel feed hole between the nozzle made in france and the nozzle made in INDIA . more over indian nozzle observed to have increase failure rate ! can any body plz let me know how big companies ensure quality control ? is there any international standard ? do these nozzles with same nomenclature should have different geometry dimension ? what are different test which can reveal and prove that geometry difference will affect performance ? help and time is appreciated

ATIF, there is a hell of a lot more to a fuel injector and it s manufacture than the hole size. Starting with material. manufacturing process. finishing process. other processes.

the bosch plant in france has created a system to make these so that they perform as expected.

you get what you pay for.

i agree with Milo even change in hole dia by two thousandths of an inch will alter the combustion process, fuel consumption and emissions, apart from you need to know that combustion chamber configuration has to be looked at when you discuss the injectors and nozzles its an exiting world iterating injector nozzle development

Bosch provides that kind of information ,rates, etc.to any, i mean, every official Bosch workshop.Commonly at less, they have the information for any pump even when the engine and its pump is unknown for them.I should go to any other Bosch workshop or even complain in headquarters to get out of doubts.Good luck.BY the way..Happy new year for everybody!!!
