Iomega produced a high density drive prior to the days of CD/DVD burning at the desktop.

They still do.

They were either external parallel, serial, or built into the machine.

We had two of these a few years ago as they appeared to be a great solution for data backup and portability. Unfortunately, neither lasted more than a couple of weeks before dying. Personally, I feel they were very poorly designed and I'd never buy another one.

There are better ways to store data, so I'd suggest extreme caution.
