Electromagnetic Field

Dear Friends,

I am very new to this Forum. Can anybody tell me

What is the effective distance of electromagnetic field of a 500 KVA transformer? How can i measure it? What is the side effect to live with in the area of electromagnetic field.

It all depends on the shielding of the transformer

Additional EM fields will be ceated by the leakage flusx of the conductors and depends on the Voltage at primary and secondaries.

Use a gauss meter for measurement

However if the transformer is properly manufactured and installed , you need not bother (if I get it what is bothering you)

We have also heard stories about HV Lines passing through fields damaging crops/ causing cancers etc but these were as i said stories only.
