Deaerator, Superheaters, LP and HP Heaters

01/21/2009 1:14 AM

In a power plant we improve the overall efficiency of the plant by superheaters, LP and HP Heaters, and the Deaerator. We use waste heat from reverb to produce steam. Our plant doesn't have an Economiser, so I want to know where do superheaters, LP and HP Heaters and the Deaerator get the heat energy from to raise the temperature of the water back to the boiler?

Super heaters Can be used based on the waste heat gases temperature.Deaerator can be used with the developed steamwith PRDS.

Regarding LP/HP heater concept may not used here inmmy view. Preheating /economiser can be added based on the system in my view

Superheaters are used to increase the amount of energy in the steam. There will not be a rise in pressure but the steam temperature goes up. Higher temp = more usable energy. Superheating is where the output from the steam drum is fed back through the heating area of the furnace. As well as adding energy to the steam it ensures that there is no water droplets are entrained, which can do damage to equipment. LP and HP heaters, ecomonmisers are generally in the waste gas stream from the boiler to aquire some of the waste heat. ie: water going into the boiler is heated in stages as it moves towards the boiler drum, steam from the boilerdrum is superheated as it goes to the equipment. Deaerator do not add but are used to remove non condenable gases from the condensate returning to the boiler.

If you have a turbine the source of these except the superheat (did you mean de-superheaters) could be uncontrolled extractions from different stages of the turbine.

Can anyone give me the detailed drawing of the HP Heater Exchanger in the Co-Gen power plant? My HP Heater is having pressure of 8 bar for steam and 170 for feed water. So it requires High Pressure Enclosure (Heat Exchanger Type DEU). Can anyone give me the detail drawing for the same...? Or if any Web site from where i can get it. If any have it, kindly send it to vishaldrex@gmail.com or call me at +919623442946.
