IPC SM-785 regards SMD (surface mount devices) assembly reliability modes for example, however standards alone, regardless how good, have to be applied within product itself matrix of considerations which in electronics is complex in itself, in applications (class 1,2.3 - life support, FDA, etc... things get really tricky on regulatory compliances, hence your simple accelerated life testing is quite likely attracting a specific compliance range. With leadfree solders, ROHS, etc. things did not get any simpler either. MIL standards are just about gone (used to be very good). Bad news, even the best corner themeselves often (once my ancient mentor told tale when overdiligent satelite reliability testing [cycling] took half of intended design life out resulting in premature failure) . Recomending blindly anything would be placing you just on like that path .. Be specific - than I can help - what is the item ? In short quarter century + experience should be a good start ; too many pitfalls jpk

All quiet in western front.
Anyhow, should you still wish for the best source of ALT (ain't books) , write me a bee line - paulk@resmed.com.au , would mail you pointers pending applications. jpk
