Hi, I'm new too this site thought I'd introduce myself, I am mech eng tech from Westlands originally through auto engineer to Environmental Scientist specialising in low embodied energy construction using home grown Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar to design and build eco-build housing, my website is greenwoodfutures.co.uk

Arrr, good to have you on board.
I have been known to pirate the odd tree myself. (Yew for making longbow).

Just looked at the site...great. I notice you do 'woodland management' ... well...
If you come across any Yew which is down or being felled, look out for any straight relatively knot free 7' lengths and let me know...decent Yew which can be 'harvested' is as rare as hens teeth.

Like hen's teeth unfortunately but we do have a Yew wood in Dorset. Not very big and i haven't had a look yet. Historically yew came in with ships from Spain and Portugal. I'll see wot's about. I have seen some in timber yards with yew in, but you need a mix between sap and heartwood.
